I have a V-Neck dress....?

How can i alter the dress so my boobs aren't the main attraction? The dress is a beautiful soft green, floral design. The descirption does no justice as it is such an amazing dress. I love it but i never get to wear because of the neckline, can anyone suggest what to do? Or perhaps you have done something similar in the past? Its a halter neck also, so i can't just wear a singlet underneath, the material is a soft tuile... Its lime greenish and cream. Please help, i really want to wear it on a cruise this Saturday

Okay, I always have this problem with dresses! What I usually do if find a piece of material that is a coordinating color and sew it into the dress.

Another thing that I usually do is is sew the v together. I know that sounds weird, but it works really well if the dress is an overlapping v; you just make it overlap more.

Another really helpful thing for controlling the cleavage is double stick tape. It helps the "girls" stay in place and usually (for me at least) I'm not showing to much cleavage when I leave the house, but throughout the night, my movements cause the boobs to come out more.

Good luck!
Reply:I don't think a reputable bridal shop can turn around alterations in a week! they need a month or more to do that.
Reply:I have been threw the same problem befor, only i had a really pretty top that came down way too far. All you have to do is take the two parts of your dress where the V neck is and sow them together until it is not as big a V, but still a little V so you don't ruin the dress. when you sow you have to be very carfull cuz if you make a messy job theres no going back. I suggest using the same color thred as your dress. If your not that good at sowing i would get someone i know that has more experience then me.
Reply:Maybe you could add a piece of material that matches to the V, maybe some kind of lace? I dont really know what material would match it but you could take it in to a fabric store %26amp; look.

You also could take it to a seamstress %26amp; have her fix it up, I would think you would have it back by Saturday if you took it in say tomorrow.

Have fun on your cruise %26amp; good luck!
Reply:Okay, it's a halter and it's v-neck. So just wear it. Anyone who is paying attention to your breasts' minds are out of the closet. When you put that dress on and you feel great....and you are comfortable with it when you look in the mirror..then wear that dress on the cruise.

I just feel that is was a waste of money if you want to alter a dress of which you love. Maybe I am missing your point, but I think that if you tie it just right, it will be fine.
Reply:sew in a piece of material in the neckline :)
Reply:Can you either sew the lower half of the "V" together so it's not such a deep plunge or perhaps buy a lightweight, solid color fabric and tastefully bridge the great divide?
Reply:Well i suggest you just take it to a place where they do that and ask them because it might be kinda hard to do that since mainly now they make alot of dresses like that.
Reply:Take it to a seamstress to have it altered. But depending on their schedule, it may not be completed before the weekend.
Reply:I would sew a piece of lace between the v. The lace wouldn't draw too much attention from the dress, but would provide the coverage you need.
