Watercolor pencils help please!?

I just purchased a set of watercolor pencils and I'm working on some realistic floral designs. If anyone can give me some advice or tips on how to use these I'd really appreciate it.

Several ways. You can colour your picture and brush in water. (colours mix as for water colours.) I have seen some people use a wet brush on the point of pencil to pick up a stronger colour for texture or line or detail. You can also dip pencil in water and then use it. Just grab some spare paper and HAVE FUN before you start your final pictures.
Reply:I think everybody tell you all you need to know.

I could just add that you can draw over the dry surface, at the end, and emphasize some flowers and leaves details.

If you need more info, I've left you an interesting link, Wet Canvas!

See ya!
Reply:My favorite is coloring where you need thing to be the darkest %26amp; gradually getting lighter but leaving white spaces before you get to a place you don't want color. Then go back with water %26amp; scrub to get a smooth look %26amp; the color will, if all goes well, fade naturally
Reply:Yes, there's all sorts of ways. Another is to dampen the paper first and then use them dry. Have fun and experiment. I haven't used them a lot but one thing I did find though was that if I dipped them straight in water they seemed to wear down very quickly and needed sharpening too often.

There's some information here, including how to keep the tips clean while you're using them:

Reply:You could also try a spray bottle to pump up the humidity of the paper.
