Does anyone know the origins of Waylon Jennings' famous guitar?

I recently bought a custom leather covered Tele replica with the floral pattens like his and have wondered if it was Waylon's own design and when did he do it. It is the one of most famous and best looking Telecaster I've seen. I'm a long time Waylon fan and have read very little info on his guitar.
Does anyone know the origins of Waylon Jennings' famous guitar?
The only information I have read with regard to his leather guitar is that it was a 53 tele that was so beaten up from wear, that Ritchie Albright, (his drummer) took it and had it covered as a surprise gift for him. He got the idea from stories that Waylon had told about his friend, Buddy Holly having had his covered in leather to look like Elvis. He thought it would be a great idea because he loved his guitar and loved Buddy.. I don't know who did the design or the significance of the rose design but he had two with slightly different configurations in pattern.
Reply:i believe that guitar belonged to buddy holly, his friend.

Font issue for creating own sweatshirt?

I have a sweatshirt that I love dearly and I've basically worn it out. Since it was a custom-made item during a vacation, I am on my own to recreate the sweatshirt. There is also a trademark logo that stores would need special permission to use. I am fine with recreating the sweatshirt on my own but I am having a problem: the font. The problem is not the actual font name but the fact that it was a font that was filled in with a design. The design was a green Hawaiian floral one, and I can not seem to figure out how to recreate that part.

Does anyone know how I could recreate this? What I am really looking for is someplace that would have this design available as a fill-in. So far, I have only found solid color fill ins and not patterns. Any advice would be helpful.
Font issue for creating own sweatshirt?
Take a look at Custom Ink and see if you can design something similar. Perhaps you can pick a font that is open and paste some flowers inside and then fill in with color? Just play with it and see what you can come up with...

http://www.customink.com/

Hopefully you can create something that you will love! Best of luck.
Reply:You could put the shirt right down on a scanner and get the design into your computer, then reverse it and do an iron-on transfer for a new shirt. Or print it onto printer fabric and make a tote bag or pillow.

The original shirt can be cut and used as the front of a pillow or a quilt block, or even framed like a picture.

Many photo programs will allow you to do letters with a pattern in them, or transparent letters over a floral pattern, to get that font effect.

I want a tattoo, and looking for something in particular, need help...?

I want a tattoo, here are the following things to be included..

- "Mom" - and something relating to my mom, could be a neat heart or something really cool to represent someone who is my world...

- my two grandmothers names - I would like either a banner type design where I can place their names inside or some way to incorporate their names in the tattoo with "mom" (both grandmothers are deceased)

- I am a girl but do not want any really girly, cute design (such as a big floral scene), I like a neat and individual design..

I dont know what type of answers i can get with this but Just tossing out the question, maybe someone will know of a perfect design or point in the right direction..

This tattoo may go on left abdomen (lower left stomach area) ...

I'll post other details as time goes on if needed :)

Thanks!

why dont you get a heart with a banner across the middle with the names in it and flowers at the bottom.

Wedding invitations?

Wanted to design and make my own wedding invitations. Was thinking of a vintage theme with a baroque floral patter.

Does anyone know where i can get ideas from?

Or knows of anyone where i can get them made?

I know how to use Adobe illustrator.

Just can't come up with a good idea.
Wedding invitations?
I have given you a link to a site called Paper Direct.

CHECK IT OUT !!!

http://www.paperdirect.com/Wedding+Invit...

They have a wide variety of paper that you can use to type up your own invitations.

Check out their wedding invitations area it has helpful templates etc.(or just to get IDEAS from).

They were one of the first, (if not the first) companies to give us something other than white paper to print out on.

When I used them years ago I was quite surprised at the quality of the product. You can order some to check out the quality for yourself.

Congratulation!! and Good Luck in Life and Love ;)
Reply:Search through istock.com They have tons of illustrator borders. Good luck. Something will inspire you!

Wedding promblem?!?

MY theme for my wedding is going to be plae yellow and pale pink. I need lots of cake designs and decorations and floral arrangements to look at...can any of you help?

and maybe some favor ideas...
Wedding promblem?!?
I have a favor idea that many people wouldnt do. Instead of giving a gift to all the people that they will never look at again. You could make a donation to the cancer society or a charity of your choice in your wedding guest names. My cousin did thise at her wedding 2 weeks ago and i thought it was a great idea seeing how this benefits the people with cancer and other problems.
Reply:ooh, very pretty. My wedding is in October so i'm using all of the fall colors. One simple thing that helped me find what i was looking for, go to Yahoo homepage and at the top where it says images, type in wedding cakes or bouquets and it shows you a lot of pics. You can get an idea of what design you like and then just go from there to add your beautiful colors. Good luck and Congrats!!
Reply:go to yahoo image search and type in what you are looking for also try theknot.com and weddingchannel.com you can also try these sites for favor ideas

other favor ideas

you could burn Cd's of either pictures of you 2 or your favorite songs.....cookies shaped as wedding cakes or something that represents both of you.....set up a candy bar so your guest can take home some of your favorite candy.
Reply:Hello,

Start with theknot.com, you can look at things by color. They have flowers, cakes, all sorts of things. Then look at brides.com and wedding channel.com. They also have alot of good ideas and plenty of photos.

As for favor ideas, I would start with exclusivelyweddings.com, they have lots of favors, decorations, toasting flutes, cake cutters, the whole works. For a cheaper place look at oriental trading. They have lots of favors and plently of ideas. Also Partyco.com has a wide selection of different favors you can get for wedding. I got my round mirrors there for my centerpeices.

Last but not least, if you want to make your own, go to Michaels.com, or ACMoore.com, they both have a wedding section and plenty of crafts to make your dream wedding come true.

Good luck!

nah it wont really go with the tattoo theme on my body. so when you are pressed against me we will look weird....lmao (joke)...

    sorry,

i reckon about 7 out of 10, t looks very sweet, feminine, the yellow does t no justice, you would be right in going for blue or even blue with a little bit of pink in it.
Reply:I like the choice you made and I think shades of blue on it will look great. Also, the shape of the tattoo will suit your shoulder as it has the flowers on two different levels. Out of ten i would rate it a 7 or 8.

If you don't want to make a bad decision then maybe you could put it on as a temporary tattoo to see if it suits you before getting the real one. Hope everything turns out well.
Reply:I give it a 6 because it is beautiful, but it's still flash. I made that mistake like someone else who answered and have had a few people come up to me with the same tat. Imagine there are a few thousand with that tat already, not original at all.

    I give it a 3.

I suppose I should also mention I am against using flash for tattoos. I made that mistake and I have had 4 people come up and tell me they have the same tattoo.
Reply:It's all right. If you're not sure, you shouldn't be getting it. Tattoos should have some kind of significance so that when you look at it in 20 or 50 years you'll still appreciate it.

    Chelsea Flower Show?

What is the principle reason you would visit The RHS Chelsea Flower Show

    a) to see garden designs and layouts?

    b) to see the latest gardening products?

    c) to witness the floral colour cascades and scents?

A general question from the Rainsmart team
    Chelsea Flower Show?
I have visited Chelsea on several occasions and all of the above reasons apply but a) %26amp; b) more than c)
Reply:I have been to the Chelsea Flower Show and was so disappointed and will never waste my money again. We could hardly see a thing there were so many people and what is the point of going if you cannot go right into the garden designs and look up-close . Never look much good from a distance. Not just that after the Queen and her family, friends, servants, dogs etc have had their look the flowers have all started drooping and does not look at its best. No way's will i go to the Chelsea show again.

    IGarden designs and layouts.

Witness the floral colour cascades and scents.

    Latest gardening products.
Reply:I went to Chelsea 2006 and was very disappointed. I thought it was packed, expensive and elistist! Bits of the show kept closing so that the camera crews could have access, the people on the stalls were often too busy to give any information on cultural affairs and some of the gardens were so packed that they could never be appreciated. No, not for me. I went to Gardener's World Live at the NEC too in 2006 and 2007 - was better in 06 but merged with 3 other food shows in 07 to the detriment of gardeners. :-)

Her assistant, Mark, handles the purchasing of flowers, related materials, and takes telephone and walk-in orders from customers. Mark also keeps the financial and client records in order. Kim is the delivery driver and makes local deliveries to homes and businesses.

Sarah’s Flower Designs is looking to upgrade its computer system (an older model PC) to help keep up with the growing demand of their customers. They would like to house their client information and order histories on their new system, as well as bill their customers electronically. They also want Kim to have a way to keep track of customer addresses and specific delivery instructions while she is on the road. What IT recommendations would you make for Sarah’s Flower Designs?
I need some general ideas please?
She needs to consult an IT person to build her a kind of software to process the business as she wishes!! the software will facilitates the work by allowing clients to process their order on line. Co-Ed wedding shower problems with the bride-to-be.?

I decided to have a wedding shower for my husband's cousin and his soon -to-be new wife. I let them know last year in October as soon as they announced their engagement that I wanted 2 have a co-ed shower for them. Problem is that NONE of the bride's family or girlfriends have planned any showers or parties for her and as a result the bride 2 be is wanting to invite ALL of her friends, family and everyone else in addition 2 the people that I had ALREADY planned to invite. I am related 2 the groom and do not know the bride or her friends.ALSO, no one else is offering to go in with me to be able to provide for the EXTRA guests or to go in and rent a banquet hall, since I had planned on hosting an at-home shower with about 30 people invited. I will be the sole one prepairing the food, decorations, designing the floral arrangements and everything in between. I feel very much taken advantaged of. Also, their shower date is in only a few short weeks away. Please guys, got any good advice 4 me?
Co-Ed wedding shower problems with the bride-to-be.?
As another mentioned, you need to advise the bride that you are hosting this shower in your home (be firm that no halls will be rented) and have a list of 30 people from your side of the family that you will be inviting. She just needs to advise her relatives that the shower you are throwing is only for the groom's family. If they wanted a shower for their family, then they can make arrangements for that shower.

    Best wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited to add: It really is a courtesy to ask the bride for a guest list, it's not a requirement. It's also customary in many families that each one hosts a shower for their side and it's a bit presumptuous of the bride to assume that she can invite her entire family to a shower being hosted by the groom's male cousin and his wife.

Seriously, the bridesmaids would normally host the shower for everyone else. I would probably mention this to the bride and let her discuss it with her friends and family.
Reply:I would get in touch with the bridesmaids, explain the situation, and hopefully they step up to the plate and pitch in. If not then I would explain to the B2B that while you appreciate her input, it's really poor etiquette on her part to have anything to do with the planning of a bridal shower.

    Good luck!
Reply:You need to sit them down and tell them what your intention was when you offered -- 30 people, mostly the grooms family, in your home.

Ask if anyone else has mentioned hosting a shower for them and if they could put you in touch with that person to possibly share the costs because you simply cannot accomodate all those people at your home.
Reply:Well, I am sorry things are not working out well, but you offered to through a bridal shower. You are supposed to ask the bride and groom who they want to attend the party. It is THEIR party, not yours. It's time to start calling up friends and family and ask for their help.
Reply:I kind of feel you put your self in this position.

You need to take into consideration who the brides wants to have attend. If you feel like this is too much for you to do all alone then you need to voice what you can do, and anything above and beyound that ..you will need assistance with.

    GOOD LUCK!

ps, i think it is kinda rude to assume you can just invite 'mostly' the grooms relatives.
Reply:If I was you, I would just be honest with her. It is customary for the hostess to ask for a guestlist from the bride, including names and addresses. I would ask her for a guestlist and I would explain that I have limited space and resources since I alone am hosting the shower, I am unable to accomodate more than 30 guests.

Another option is to contact the maid of honor and bridesmaids and ask if they would like to be co-hostesses. Since it is for both men and women, ask the groom's attendents, also.

Does your church have a "Fellowship Hall" or any kind of meeting rooms? If so, you may be able to use that rent free, then just provide the food and some flower arrangements for the tables.

the more people you involve, the more ideas you will have as well as money and (wo)man-power!!
Reply:Not everyone has, nor wants, loads of showers. As host, it is your responsibility to make sure the bride gives you a list of who she wants there. It is not your decision on who is allowed to attend. You can't invite your friends, just people on her list. If it is a space issue, tell the bride your home can fit a certain amount of people. So get the list, send out the invitations and organize this with the wedding party. As the host, you need to step up, get your can in gear and plan a great party for your cousin and his wife.
Reply:This is going to sound brideszilla-ish, and will probably get me thumbs down, but I don't care.

If my invite list for the shower didn't get taken into consideration, I would have been pissed and may have had the host cancel everything. What's the point if I can't be surrounded by the people I love?

Start calling around and find support from MOB, MOG, bridesmaids, groomsman (since it's co-ed). You can do it
  • maybelline
  • Can anybody tell me what she want to tell ?

Prepare the arrangement by pokeing the base end of a stick into the florist foam. The tricky part is to achieve the "floral bouquet" look. Try to imagine the fruits going up in a bouquet shape, with a pointed middle piece and with the bulk of the fruits layering out to the sides. Use your original; sketches and designs in this stage, but do not feel you have to follow them, follow your creative instincts first.
Can anybody tell me what she want to tell ?
The paragraph describes how to make an arrangement that looks like a floral bouquet using florist foam, a stick, and fruit.

And the question is....? I hope this is not some hope of advertising, coz it would mean you're real bad at targeting your market. Try to post a question in "marketing" or "visual arts" to get help effectively reach the people which are most likely to purchase your goods/service.

    Hint: this is not it.

What do young plus-size girls think of their clothing options in 14+ stores or sections in department stores?

Around here, we basically have AE, Additionelle, Penningtons (all owned by the same company), and then plus-sized sections in regular department stores.

It seems that either the clothes are outrageously priced or designed for older women... clothes so hideous you wouldn't want to be caught dead in them (ie: floral prints). In the department stores, you feel like they pulled the 14+ selection from a yard sale.

There is the MXM line in AE, Addition-Elle, and Penningtons which is specifically for the younger women, and there are some really nice clothes... but who wants to pay $50 for a shirt? And aside from that line - nothing.

I just think that there is a market out there to be developed. I find it very difficult to find clothes I really like and there are few options for places to shop... especially without going broke!

I'm curious if this opinion is shared amongst other women who wear sizes 14+.
What do young plus-size girls think of their clothing options in 14+ stores or sections in department stores?
I totally agree...I feel that the majority of department who tries to target a plus sized audience doesnt make the greatest effort because it doesnt appeal to young curvy women. I struggle as a 18 year old who is comfortable with her size and wants to also look just as good as my skinnier thinner counterparts. The clothes that are cute and youthful looking, usually cost an arm and leg, me being a college student, I just dont have that money.

I think they need to cater to an audience who is plussize, wants to look good in cute AFFORDABLE clothes....because spending over 80 dollars for one outfit is just not that realistic to mainstream america.
Reply:Go online Old Navy has cool plus size clothing. And Lane Bryant has a juniors department. Try going on those sites for cute clothes.
    Reply:Old Navy, Lane Bryant, Cato's, Cathrine's
Reply:i defintiely agree with you... i've been 14+ since my teens and i had a tough time finding cute things like my thinner friends. as a full blown adult (25+) it is easier now cuz i have the money to afford it and the age to wear some more "mature" things (but never a floral print!!!)

Old Navy has cute things and their sizes go up to xxl as well as their womens sizes... same style as the reg sizes just in larger sizes...

the gap has some extended sizes online...

lane bryant has cute stuff but can be on the expensive side and not always for the teen scene...

there is also torrid.com and their stores... they have the most options that I've seen in terms of trendy, cute, 14+ clothing... and pretty affordable too. i wish there were around during my teen years.
Reply:I personally prefer Old Navy. In fact majority of my clothes come from here, and they last a good while to. They don't shrink, even if you dry them for to long.
Reply:I find most plus sized clothes look like lunch lady clothes or they are not proportioned correctly. Cheap up-sized versions of the smaller sizes that don't take into account the different body style.... in otherwords the sleeves are too long and the shoulders are droopy because they assume all the dimensions need to be increased. UGH
Reply:Well I dont know if there is a store called Torrid for + sizes but that is a nice place to go to...I have never been there but my friends sayy its good...if not go to forever 21 or Charlotte Russe I am sure you can find something there....my friends did...
Reply:I remeber when I was a young girl looking for plus size clothes, it was awful. There are so much more choices now then before, so count your blessings. Do you have a Lane Bryant? They have some cute, young styles of jeans and shirts, and they always have good clearance sales. I like the Old Navy plus sizes too, they have up to XXL/20 in the store and more online(www.oldnavy.com). Torrid is a young plus size store too, the have online 14-26 sizes (www.torrid.com)

this is one reason I decided to learn to sew, I hated the clothes (especally dresses, ugh, looked like the Golden Girls shopped there), so I learned how to sew for myself.

    Unique white gold wedding band?

I'm having trouble finding a unique women's white gold wedding band. I'd like something that has an antique style or something with an etched design (maybe floral, with vines, or along those lines, but not celtic). Probably nothing with any diamonds or gemstones. It's got to be completely round, not one that will fit around the engagement ring, because I'll only be wearing the band to work once we get married. I'm hoping for under $500, but am willing to go a little higher because it is a once in a lifetime thing! Any ideas? Thanks!

Reply:Have you considered having one custom made? I don't know how far away your wedding is, but if you hit some art fairs and/or reniassance fairs this summer, you could probably find something one of a kind, or ask the artist at the booth if they can make one for you, if you describe it, or find a picture of one that is close to what you want.

I don't know how many grams of gold it takes to make a wedding band, but I watch this home shopping channel that has nothing but jewelry, and they usually quote the gram weight of the gold at anywhere between 3-7 grams. I don't know how many grams in an ounce, but I've heard the cost of gold is at an all time high--over $900, so I'm not sure if you'll be able to keep it under $500.
Reply:Lucky for you, floral, leaf pattern, and etched wedding bands are always a popular design in white gold. As a jeweler I can recommend you to a few manufacturers, for example, Benchmark has some great wedding bands, so type that into your web browser. Allison Kaufman also has great styles. Of course, once you get a name brand, you pay more. Try going to www.stuller.com, and see if it will let you browse the pictures. It's a jeweler's website, one that a lot of small jewelry stores use, they have some excelent hand engraved, hand woven, non celtic style wedding bands, and have great quality. Other than that, try searching Ostbye, as they are good too. Good luck, also, don't be afraid to go to your local independant jeweler, a lot of times they can do custom designs which would allow you to dream and get exactly what you want.
Reply:How about a white gold band made by Native Americans, that certainly is unique.

How do you get your husband to agree on decorating your way?

I'm into interior design and I desperately want to redo our bedroom and something more pastel. I want to do a lavender and yellow floral theme, since those were our wedding colors and also my two favortie colors but he said no! I was so disappointed about that. I don't see what the big deal is. I was thinking about doing it anyway when he goes out of town on his business trip at the end of the month, and then there would be nothing he could do about it. What do you think?
How do you get your husband to agree on decorating your way?
Look, my wife is an architect and the house is her hobby. As far as I am concerned, whatever she wants to do, she just goes and does it.

However, if you pull something like that on your husband, I will be able to hear the screaming arguments from here.

perhaps a mock-up or visual idea of what you hope to accomplish
Reply:I am going to side with your husband on this one. A shared space like a bedroom needs to reflect both people living there. Especially since it is a room that is so personal to a couple like a bedroom is. This is a project that you two need to plan and do together. I know women who went ahead and redecorated thier bedrooms the way they wanted with out consulting thier husbands. The rooms were turned into "estrogen zones" and the men felt uncomfortable in them. I'm talking lavenders and pinks here. FLorals aren't too big in male decorating either. You want your mate to be relaxed and comfortable in your shared bed so he wants to be there. Have some respect for his tastes too. Good Luck.
Reply:I think you are selfish for not considering his feelings. The theme you have chosen is too feminine for a man. I am sure you can come to some sort of compromise. It can't be all your way. If I was your husband and I went away %26amp; returned to find my bedroom decorated in a way that I had previously said I did not want, I would take everything out of that bedroom and burn it in the barbecue pit. I would make sure I took your credit cards away and clean out any bank account that you had access to. If you can't be responsible %26amp; respectful with the money you all share, you don't deserve to have any of it. How dare you be that disrespectful to the man who works everyday to pay the bills.
Reply:A very wise (and happily married) older woman once told me something about decorating bedrooms....and I will never forget it. She said that a woman can be very comfortable in a bedroom that is decorated in a masculine way, but a man will NEVER be comfortable in a bedroom that is decorated in a feminine way.

Makes a LOT of sense to me when you think about it. Try for more masculine, with some little feminine touches that express both of you. After all, the bedroom SHOULD be a domain where you can BOTH be happy. Have a female lavender and yellow space somewhere else (kitchen, lanai, bathroom, study...) where you spend more time alone than you do with him.
Reply:If you want something than you gotta give up something. Does your husband have a room of his own? A sports room? Or a computer room? Or the garage? I would suggest that you propose it like this: You give me our bedroom and I'll give you another room in the house that you can decorate as you see fit.

Give him a "man zone" you know? Let him hang up sports posters. Obviously if its in the house, you might not want him hanging up girlie posters, but remember the old truism: You give a little to get a little.
Reply:I think any man would object to such a feminine bedroom. You need to consider his taste as well, even though you are disappointed.

I don't know how long you have been married, but this is a big deal. Try to come up with another idea that would be more suitable for an adult couple.

After all, you're not a child anymore and not a young woman planning her wedding. Break the habit and go in an entirely new

direction. You said you are into interior design, so I know you can do much more.
Reply:Lavender and yellow floral would make me sick. I can't imagine a man liking it. What ever you do, don't go behind his back. You'll be sleeping in that frilly room alone.
Reply:hon, I just can't blame him...this is a very girly theme, and very few men are going to be crazy about it. I hate flowers, and despise lavender...surely there are themes you can both agree on. AND if you are going to sell that house before a redo of the bedroom, I suggest that you consider more neutral or masculine themes...everyone likes neutral or masculine, but themes that are highly feminine are more for little girl's rooms than adults. Just my opinion. He has to spend time there to, and if you make it SEXY for him, you will end up the winner, I can promise you that. IF you go aobut decorating something in a theme that he has stated he does not like while out of town, you need to rethink your position on marriage! IF my mate did this, there would be hell to pay, and a decorator would be paid also, one that doesn't involve you in the decor. I am not being harsh here, I am suggesting that this is a common room to both of you. If you are really stuck on this, then do a guest bedroom this way, but NOT the master bedroom. Very bad idea. Good luck
Reply:I think ''you compromise''...that is what marriage is about....even about decoration. Lavender and yellow?...what's next, you're gonna have a flower theme in your bathroom? I think you're acting like a little girl.
Reply:I did it two years ago, he was out of country for two weeks and I renovated the social bathroom! It is so beautiful now!

But it almost cost my marriage. He did not speak to me for two weeks.

Now, he helps me to clean it and most of the time while in the shower, he washes the glass doors.

And this year I renovated the one in our suite, and when he came back from his trip, he said: Hum, Looks nice.

Hope, if you decide to do it, he will accept and enjoy it too.

All my friends husband told me they wish, they come back from their trip and their wife have done what I did.

Spend the money where I spent, instead of shoes, clothes and etc.
Reply:I think pastel colors are too feminine looking for males.I would try to go with something that was unisex. They may be YOUR favorite colors but not his. It is his room too. How would you like to sleep in a bedroom that was overly masculine looking? Don't redo the room when he is out of town. You already know that he doesn't like the idea so why would you even think of doing it? That is just asking for trouble.Try to come up with something else that both of you can agree on.
    Reply:Marry a gay man.
Reply:I wouldn't recommend going behind his back when he has said a definite "no". My husband couldn't care less what colors I decorate in. He has more important things to worry about. I suppose that if he came home to a bedroom that was decked out in pink he may have something to say.
Reply:Oh Geezzzzzzzzzzzzzz I've been throught that! Please. It's the womans place to decorate. It's the mans job to follow her around and say it looks beautiful honey!! Tell him to get over it.
Reply:Yeah, you should have married a girl. My husband and I chose our decor together, it is very tasteful, but does not look like a princess' castle. You have to give a little here.

Doing that behind his back is not cool, what kind of marriage do you even have. Clue....it is supposed to be a partnership.
Reply:Men just aren't crazy about flowers.. Is there some other theme that reflects both of your tastes?
Reply:I am also into interior decorating but I try hard to incorporate my fiances ideas and opinions. i think a man feels somewhat de-masculated when he is sleeping in a pastel floral bedroom.

I suggest sitting down with him and having him help you pick paint colors, maybe yello for the walls and minimal flowers will help him feel more masculine.

Dont redo it while he is gone, he will think you have zero regard for his opinions.
Reply:The better choice would be to find something you both agree on and like. I would NEVER decorate our room in flowers because I know my husband wouldn't like it. Perhaps you can decorate the guest bedroom with those colors.
Reply:He told you no and he has at least 1/2 a say in this matter. So you willingly do something to piss him off, is that it? The matter should be at least settled first. You didn't say if you work. If you don't, he is entitled to a bit more respect as you are using his money.

Usually men don't care about what their wives do in the house but I guess everybody has a tolerance. He sleeps in the bedroom and if you choose something he really hates, he goes sleep somewhere else and then what? Whose fault will it be?

You still live like playing in a sandbox
Reply:If it was me i would do it anyway, but then my hubby doesnt care what i do as long as he doesnt have to help.

It depends on how you think your hubby will react if you know his going to flip his lid, ask him for ideas and see if you can meet eachother half way.

I dont know your hubby. Your the one that has to live with him, and his mood if he hates what you have done!

    Good Luck
Reply:Offer a simple compromise, your colors but no floral designs.

  • What would you accessorize a black dress with for a wedding?

I am going to a wedding in Feb next year and there will definately be snow or slush on the ground as I live in Finland.

I have the black ribbon dress from Monsoon which has a corset and a full 50s style calf length net skirt with a floral ribbon design all over. It has loops on the waist to add a ribbon belt. As it will be cold I also have a nice Laura Ashley back wool coat to wear outside and it has flecks in the wool which sparkle and catch the light.

I still need to get shoes, jewellery, tights and a shrug or a bolero as I want to cover up a bit at the reception but I don't want to wear all black as I am going to a wedding not a funeral! Any suggestions please?

p.s. I did read some place you shouldn't team black with colour as it makes the colour look brighter but I love colours like teal and peacock blue though... I would like to keep the outfit 50s style as well right down to the shoes but am thinking peep toes might not be wise in the snow :o(
What would you accessorize a black dress with for a wedding?
well firstly i think that your dress sounds lovely, you are right about not putting colour with black - it is because black is very classy to wear but colours cheapen it. as for peep-toe heels - well i don't think they look good when the lady is wearing tights so i suggest a closed-toe shoe instead. i have created an outfit for you (dress and coat are obviously not the real items you have but they are there as an example): http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=16030...
Reply:Sometimes combining black and a bright colour can cheapen an outfit or make it look very young, but I think teal and dark blue are exceptions, so I would go for it. Or white or deep purple would work too. I think peep toes are really nice and you should be okay with them, as long as you won't be walking on grass.
Reply:it's sharp and outstanding to match the black dress with peacock blue or red jewelries / shoes. i think silver would be somewhat too much! for some ideas on elegant jewelries: http://www.looksonice.com/home.html

remember to wear pantyhoses to keep your legs warmer, some with patterns e.g. diamond shape would make your legs look more chariming and slimer: http://www.feelsonice.com/pantyhoses.htm...
Reply:i wore a black dress to my friends weeding and i wore gold with it ,, gold shoes braclet and black and gold bag ,, less is best .. but any colour will go with the black as we all no so really its about wats in the shopes that catches ur eye ,, id get bag and shoes first and then jewellery and a nice shawl in a bright colour ,, have a great time
Reply:To be honest i'd never wear black to a wedding, but that's just me. If you've got them diamonds always look nice with black.
Reply:50 style jewlery you could wear any color(s) you want because the dress is black
Reply:a cute bright clutch and long pearls. I see that working great. and a cute kitten heel.
Reply:May I ask why are you wearing black to a wedding
Reply:a long silver necklace with a big pendant of some sort maybe?
Reply:I would have to say that the shoes and jewelry are fair game since you're wearing a black outfit. I'd have to say that you should think about wearing red shoes and maybe using red accessories (I find the combination of black and red to be the most flattering). And plus, that is fairly 50s style!

If not, I would think peacock blue shoes would also go well with your black ensemble (although good luck trying to find shoes of that color!)

Also, you could use silver shoes or jewelry if you want to be more subdued.

Green dress at Olympus Fashion Week in NYC?

I was watching E! this morning and they showed a photo of a gorgeous green and yellow, floral print dress. It was a strapless fitted bust with a fluffier/more party bottom half. It was about knee length. I've been searching E! online, among other places, and cannot seem to find out who designed it. Any ideas?

Disney Imagineering?? how to become one??

i have a real interest in disney imagineering ... im a senior in high school and will be leaving to attend my first semester at texas tech in the fall....im trying to figure out what area of study/major will help me the most with my dream of becoming an imagineer ... i was thinking of trying to become an architechtural / civil engineer but i really have a stronger interest in design (floral, interior, costume, etc.) and history (what i am currently enrolled to study in the fall) but i want to earn a degree that will help me get closer to my dream of imagineering ... if anyone knows any information about what majors are helpful for becoming an imagineer or any information on working for the disney company advice and tips would be greatly greatly appreciated!!!!

  • I want to get another tattoo...?

I have one on my foot and I want to get another one down the left side of my torso back and ribs a little bit...like a floral/swirley design with some pink ,yellow, orange and green and have some light blue waves in it somewhere..(beachy like) with some black.. or should I just get a cool design down my side with no color.. what do we think??
I want to get another tattoo...?
I love colors...and the fading depends on the persons skin. I have all color tattoos, and some are about 7 years old and haven't faded a bit. No touch ups yet...and same goes for my boyfriend who have sleeves and neck done. A good tattoo artist will do the color right. Also, a little trick is to let the tattoo dry heal...don't put anything on it..and let it scab and peel naturally...that will preserve the color very well. I know from experience! So I say make it beautiful with color!!!
Reply:I tend to avoid colors as they fade over time. You can retouch some, but with color spread, they don't bounce back as well as you might like.
Reply:Both sound interesting. A color tattoo will cost more and require more upkeep as you most likely will need to get it touched up years down the road. The beachy scene (to me) seems like it would better suit a body if it goes across the lower back and works up towards the shoulders (like in the shape of a fire, wider and the bottom and tapering upwards).

What type of shoes should I wear with this dress/to this dance -explaination inside-?

In a few months I have a school dance (not a prom), the first "wear a dress" one that I've gone to. According to my friend who is older than me and has gone to this dance before, girls really dress up......nice shoes, dress, make-up, up-dos, ect....but not as dressy as a prom. Well, I found a halter dress that goes just past the knee, has a small amount of barely noticable netting at the bottom, and is white with a floral (but not grandma floral) brown and salmon design, and a segment in the upper middle area is brown. The dress itself is fine, but what shoes should I wear with it? I found shoes here:

    http://www.kohls.com/products/product_pa...

(it's the brown one that there isn't a picture of)

but I have a few questions. One are they reasonable/dressy enough for a dance? I can walk in them fine, and they match the dress. Also, what other shoes might you reccomend? heel height/style/ect
What type of shoes should I wear with this dress/to this dance -explaination inside-?
Go with a shoe that is a t-strap with minimal embellishments...

Here are a couple of ideas (the prices are high, so these are just suggestions on style):

    http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/24872592/c/...

    http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/22243533/c/...

These are my favorite because they are taupe...which compliments brown and coral....

    http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/20902960/c/...

Heel height is up to you, but considering the dress is just below the knee...I would go with atleast a 2 inch heel. If you are really tall...go with a kitten heel. No more than an inch.

Jewelry? NO...and I mean NO necklace. Halter styles are designed to bring the focus to your chest area and up. Don't break up the "flow" by adorning your neck. Instead, some simple earrings that dangle would be great. Look for earrings that have a little sparkle, but not overkill. Try and find a pair that incorporate the coloring in the dress. Maybe some beads or amber stones. A nice dangle of about 2 inches would be plenty. Bracelets are where you can have fun! Mix it up with a few bangles.

    Hope this helps!!

P.S....the shoes you picked out are really cute and go with it if you feel comfortable in them. I just wanted to give you a few alternatives. GOOD LUCK!
Reply:That shoe is gorgeous and is dressy enough. If u go for strappy high heels you would look like you are going to the prom. Anyway for the jewelry i would not wear a necklace but i would wear a bracelet and earrings.
Reply:it's a dance so make sure you can dance in the shoes you get.
Reply:Can you upload a picture of your dress or find one online that's similar? The shoes from Khol's look more suitable for a day out strolling on the pier than a night time gala.

    How about any of these?

    http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I...

And if you're wearing a brown dress you could always go for a gold tone like this:

    http://www.rampage.com/page/items.deptid...

Too matchy matchy is no good.

As far as jewelry goes, I'd go with some nice dangly earrings. Skip the necklace. Halters don't work well with necklaces since they rub against the dress in the back and they will compete with the the halter's line around your neck. Too complicated.
Reply:The dress sounds cute and I think the shoes you chose would look great. Not to dressy but not overly casual. Shoes like that can look dressy or casual depending on what you wear with them. Another option is a cute wedge. As for jewelry, with a a halter neck some people say no necklace, it looks too busy, but I think a nice long double strand necklace would look great. Maybe a salmon color or even white/off-white. Add a few bangles, not to many, but since the dress code is more of a semi-formal be a little funky and fun with your jewelry, oh and you can rock it with a great pair of earrings. Halter dresses emphasize the length of your neck so you can wear a more dangly earring:

Reply:I wouldn't get the brown shoes actually. I'd get black. The shoes themselves are SO CUTE!! Since it's a halter don't wear a necklace, but wear some nice silver pink and brown bracelets. Some silver hoops would look cute. Definettly wear mascara, UR SKIN COLORED FOUNDATION, some sparkly powder (All over ur body), and some pink or brown eye shadow.
Reply:yes they are dressy enough and If I would recommend ne other dressy shoes I would say the high heels like looks like a pair of flip flops but there high heels. Good luck findin the right shoes.
Reply:Wow...i love those shoes!Maybe in white, since the dress has white, and no black. Brown would be good too.

If you can't get those shoes, wedges would be great. It's the new style, and they're very dressy, and would go great with a floral dress.Something like:

    http://www.famousfootwear.com/product.as...

As for jewelry,I wouldn't wear a necklace because of the neckline halters have.

    I would go for a bracelet!Maybe something like:http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?cat...

Bangles would go well. Or perhaps a more slinky bracelet you have at home.

Have fun at the dance! The dress sounds gorgeous=]

    Tile Painting Ideas?

I've started painting 4" ceramic tiles and selling them in sets of four on ebay. Here are some examples of ones I did already:

My first was four brightly colored rainforest frogs with different patterned backgrounds.

Then, I took some pale pink tiles and painted the silhouettes of ballet dancers on each in black. Very Cute!

I also did a kitchen tile set with a teabag, a kettle, and two teacups with floral designs.

Then I did a mural of a yellow bird on a branch...can't really eplain it.

here is how to do it.http://www.hennacaravan.com/how/how.html
Reply:way to take it too seriously. the meanings of words change over time and civilizations. tattoos are body art, henna is body art, so we relate them to eachother. besides do teh words temporary and tattoo belong together....no, but you didn't notice that, because you are used to hearing it, because we have made it a new phrase. plus people are stupid, you can't expect too much
Reply:I dont EXACTLY know, Its just the fact that.

Henna tattoo is not temporary, but it is still on the skin so it is clased as "Tattoo".

Henna can also be bad for your skin, leaving you allergic to make-up forever. Only if it gets irritated. Some people are lucky, some are not. It leaves scars.

Henna is a type of tatto, becuase a henna contain ink. But the ink is not inserted or in the skin.

Do these shoes look too girly for a 17 year old girl?

I'm in 6th grade and I'm going to buy these for myself and my sister really likes them too so I wanna buy them for her. I have $100 and I can't wait for like 3 months for real uggs. We don't feel comfortable wearing a sheep's skin either so, yeah.

    here are the shoes: http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/wcs/...

I think the floral designs are really cute compared to paying $200 for plain boots. Please no mean comments. Thanks!
Do these shoes look too girly for a 17 year old girl?
They're very similar to Uggs, which plenty of seventeen year olds and far older girls wear. So they'd be fine. The floral designs are really cool too.

    Tile Ideas (Read More!)?

I've started painting 4" ceramic tiles and selling them in sets of four on ebay. Here are some examples of ones I did already:

My first was four brightly colored rainforest frogs with different patterned backgrounds.

Then, I took some pale pink tiles and painted the silhouettes of ballet dancers on each in black. Very Cute!

I also did a kitchen tile set with a teabag, a kettle, and two teacups with floral designs.

Then I did a mural of a yellow bird on a branch...can't really eplain it.

Give me some more ideas!!! What would you want in your kitchen or bathroom?
    Tile Ideas (Read More!)?
nautical theme with an anchor, lighthouse, ship, etc.

seashell theme with different types of shells

fruits and veggies for a kitchen backsplash setting

    birds are a good theme

maybe a sun, moon and stars theme

maybe a collection of 9 with a suburban mural, like a country cottage or something.

great idea with the tiles!! hope it does well for you!

    Cheetah print cake--tacky or not?

What do you think? If a fondant-covered cake had a cheetah print on one of the tiers, would it look cute or tacky? The other tiers are a hot pink one with stripes of white, brown and pale pink, and a brown one with pale pink floral designs. There's a cascade of large white flowers with pink and brown centers and brown patterning that will go down the tiers, and fondant beads on spiral silver wire as a topper. Is the cheetah print too much? This is a birthday cake for someone who's turning 27.

    Need help finding a design..?

I found a unique sketch of a lady-- reminicent of the Dave Matthews Band symbol.. and she's holding a flower above her head. Im not too crazy about a floral, but I LOVE the uniqueness of the lady. I was thinking of drawing the lady up holding a strand of pearls (pearls representing luck %26amp;%26amp; Jesus)-- but #1, I cant draw %26amp;%26amp; #2, I dont really know what they should look like. I guess Im asking for pictures or tips of how I should go about this. And if anyone has another suggestion of something that she could be holding, that would be great!! Thanks!! :)
    Need help finding a design..?
Is this something you are getting tattoo'ed on you? If so, go to your artist and they will be able to draw it for you. That's their job! If you don't like it then have them fix it or go to a different artist.

    i did!

I'm going to college soon, but i don't know what kind of classes to take, what jobs would best fit me?

I like taking people's ideas, and making them reality. Like movies, or writing books/short stores, or creating clothes, or designing posters/yearbooks or designing the looks of rooms. I've loved the idea of being a wedding planner, and coming up with floral designs or the look of a wedding all together. I also like the idea of computer animating, or something along the ideas with making movies. I don't know if it helps, but we were required to write a persuasive speech to our class, and present it. It was a contest, and i won.

What kind of jobs do you think i would enjoy?

You may want to look into a degree in Communications. Jobs in this field can include a lot of different things but many of the fields would fit with your talents and interests. You don't have to settle on a major right away but if you want to feel you have a focus then look into what this degree involves and take early classes that you will later need for your more advanced work. Good luck!

    Men with 'girly' tattoos?

Do you think that things like large butterfly / floral designs on a man look silly?

(Note: I am not asking because I want to get either of them personally - just wondered)

you cant help cringe! but it's up to them! their body!

now, to flip it around, what about women with supposedly "manly" tattoos... such as maybe skulls or pinups?

Reply:well it depends on the guy but i think butterflies and stuff are better on girls but not saying guys should not get them if they want.
Reply:Yes. But I'm the type of girl who is attracted to macho men. I'm sure there are plenty of women out there who wouldn't mind a guy with butterfly tattoos...
Reply:Not really. As long as a Dragon is right behind it ready to eat it.

Can you write this in your own words and make shorter?

Prepare the arrangement by pokeing the base end of a stick into the florist foam. The tricky part is to achieve the "floral bouquet" look. Try to imagine the fruits going up in a bouquet shape, with a pointed middle piece and with the bulk of the fruits layering out to the sides. Use your original; sketches and designs in this stage, but do not feel you have to follow them, follow your creative instincts first.

  • How do I ask for business pricings that I need for a wedding project?

I am in a floral design project, and this semester we are all required to plan a wedding, complete with order forms and everything.

How should I approach the businesses such as the reception facility, ice sculpters and bakeries with a request for pricings and package info? I don't want to waste their time too much, but is is absolutely necessary for me to have this information!

I have been able to find websites for many items, but there are a few businesses that only have contact information and pictures of their work. How to I ask for this in a way that will get them to respond to me?

"Hello Sir/Ma'am, my name is Jessica. I am planning a wedding for my floral design project and I am wondering if you can give me pricing and package information for my class assignment."
Reply:Approach each business as though you are planning your own wedding. Tell them that you are considering several businesses (caterers, photographers, whathaveyou) and that you would like to have a general price list for their services.

    It's done all the time.

Some businesses may tell you that everything has to be quoted based on the actual work being requested, but you will find plenty that will be happy to provide a general price list.
Reply:Simply contact them and tell them exactly what you need and why you need it. Most business will not have a problem giving you the information and may even be able to help you with you're project. They encounter different scenario's all of the time and may think about something you overlook.

You could go with either a super thin layering tee underneath for a more casual look, or top with shrugs, cute cropped jackets, swing jackets, caridgans, etc. Here are some links to show example of what I mean:

Reply:I sort of have a shirt like that and here is what i would do. I would get sice your color is teal with floral print, i would get black leggings that go a little above your ankel and some teal flip slops or if you can find it some floral flip flops with some teal in them. Also if there is a color that stands out in the shirt ( in the floral pattern) then look for leggings that color. Or you can wear long pants and shoes with teal or what ever color the floral pattern is to match the shirt. Hope this works!!!!!

How do I ask for business pricings for a wedding project?
Mention that you need information for a project, and ask if this is a good time to speak with them. If they say it's not, ask for a better time or leave your contact information so they can get back to you when it's convenient.

Most people will be more than happy to help!
Reply:They won't ignore you. Just tell them you're doing research and need some written estimates or quotes. You don't have to tell them what it's for, or you could always lie and say you're researching options for your sister's wedding. :)
Reply:Be straight forward and let them know that you are doing research project for a floral design class and you would like some background information on pricing and other services that they do. And pictures of their work if they can allow it. Never pose as something that your not like a bride looking to plan a wedding that's dishonest and when you go into working field you may run into these people again and they will figure it out and that could ruin your professional reputation before you have begun.
Reply:In addition to the previous answers, let the facility know that you will also help promote and advertise their business in lieu of taking the time to meet and discuss things with you. It is quite possible that you may end up in this type of business one day and it's all part of hand-on learning and experience.

    Good luck!
Reply:Just e-mail them and say you are planning a wedding and would like to get more information on their pricing, etc. Most don't include it on their website because they don't want to scare people away, but they do have a pricing worksheet that they will send you if you ask. Don't lie to them but be as general as possible, you should be able to get the info you need.
Reply:Try emailing them if that information is on their website.

You can say you are a prospective bride (or helping a friend who is getting married) or that you are a student working on a project (the first option will guarantee a faster response). You don't have to give them any additional contact information and if they try to follow up, you can say that you have the information and are considering your options.

I've requested information from a variety of sources (like hotels and reception venues) in the past, and once the place sent me their price sheet, very few of them have ever followed up and none have pressured me to use their services.

Looking for cardigan to wear over picnic dress?

Hello! I don't understand why I'm having such a difficult time finding one, but I'm looking for a black cardigan to wear over a picnic dress. The dress is spaghetti strap, emerald green, simple floral design cut into the fabric across the chest, and full skirt dropping to just below my knees.

Given the dark color of the dress, would a white or cream work, or simply black? Also, it would be wonderful to find a cardigan with 3/4 sleeves. If you could provide the links, that would be so helpful, as I've checked most department stores (JCPenneys, Macys, etc.) with no luck.

    Thank you so much!

What kind of paint to use on shiny acoustic guitar...(acrylic- like finish on childs guitar?

I want to put floral design with my neice's name on tiny, but real..guitar. Its acoustic, made of wood, but the front of guitar is pink, hard plastik looking finish, --it almost looks like the finish of an electric, but you can see on sides that its just painted on top..I'm sure I'll spray with polyure...when I finish, but i don't know it that will keep it from scuffing off...IDEAS?
What kind of paint to use on shiny acoustic guitar...(acrylic- like finish on childs guitar?
First make sure that any paint you use is lead-free - always a safe bet where children are concerned..

Second, lightly rub the whole surface with 600 - 1000 grit wet and dry carborundum paper (very fine 'sand' paper) as this will key the surface and allow the paint to take. Most motor factors / diy stores will sell this. Use water to keep the paper from clogging and minimise the fine dust that might irritate your nasal passages.

Since you are covering it with a hard polyurethane finish, this dull surface will help to hold onto the polyurethane and it will come up like new with the floral design underneath after the poly dries.

It would be better to do the whole surface rather than just the part on which you want to paint as it will give a more uniform look.

Good Luck, what a lovely idea!
